Super easy homemade frozen yogurt with just a few simple ingredients. Soft and creamy, with the addition of fruit flavors, this easy frozen yogurt made with Greek yogurt is one of my favorite summer recipes !

So here’s the thing, my original idea for this easy frozen yogurt was to make it Red, White and Blue. You know, as a fun summer treat perfect for Fourth of July (like this no bake coconut strawberry cheesecake ). But it turned out to be pink, white and purple instead.
But hey that’s okay, because just like life, these things don’t always go according to plan. But rest assured, the final product here is every bit as awesome as it looks!
So if you haven’t tried it yet, you should definitely get busy this summer, making this insanely delicious Easy Frozen Yogurt , and make it even better by adding flavors to create your own swirled frozen fruit-flavored yogurt!
Frozen yogurt
I was introduced to frozen yogurt by my sister. Well, let me amend that statement. I’d had frozen yogurt before, but never really liked it and didn’t see what the big deal was about. But a while back, my sister suggested that we try this new froyo place in town in Brisbane, and I relented after some hesitation and tried some frozen yogurt popsicles .
You know how the story goes from here. 🙂 I loved it and have never looked back since! It’s one of my favorite frozen dessert recipes and summer treats that I make every summer along with this easy fruit sorbet!

Since our local froyo place isn’t that good, I make my own now. While it would be easier with an ice cream maker, you can also just mix everything in a flat, wide dish and whisk it every few hours until it’s completely aerated and starts to harden. And honestly, I’m embarrassed to even call this a recipe.
It’s just so simple to make and is also adaptable to different tastes. But because it’s so easy and so delicious, I had to share it, so that you too can enjoy this fantastic treat this summer! PLUS, I also made these fun frozen yogurt popsicles that are just as easy to make.

Easy frozen yogurt recipe tips
You can add more sugar or fruit syrup to get a softer frozen yogurt. You can also add extra milk to make it softer. It’s a good idea to make it a little softer because the frozen yogurt can be quite hard when frozen.
The recipe I’m sharing with you today gave us the consistency that we liked, which is a little hard when frozen. I also added lemon juice and sugar syrup to give it a nice tart flavour.
Here I’m also showing you how to introduce flavour to the frozen yogurt base. I added Strawberry and Blueberry to make it “red, white and blue,” perfect for Fourth of July celebration s.
Do not hesitate to adapt this recipe to your taste. Personally, I love my frozen yogurt creamy and sweet but with lots of citrus flavours, but you may prefer it with just a little sweetness and vanilla. Whichever way you make it, this will be a fantastic summer dessert, no doubt!

Recipe notes
My initial plan was to freeze the different fruit flavours separately, but then I got the red, white and blue idea and decided to freeze everything together in the same container.
I absolutely love how it turned out, even though it’s not exactly the colours I had initially wanted. Blue is a very hard colour to get to be honest.
But the flavours are what truly matter at the end of the day, and this one’s firmly one of my favourite fruit desserts ! Each scoop gives you a swirl of beautiful colours and delicious fruity flavours, which are a combo of lemon, strawberry and blueberry. What’s not to love about that? I cannot think of a perfect way to cool myself down during those hot, muggy summer days!

How to make Easy Frozen Yogurt
Ingredients
- 1 tub of Greek yogurt 32 oz / 907g, or 1 liter is fine too
- 1 cup of single pouring cream
- Juice of 1 large lemon
- Honey or simple sugar syrup or maple syrup to sweeten to your taste
Fruit puree (this is for 1/3rd of the yogurt base - you can easily double or triple it)
- 7 oz strawberry or blueberry or raspberry washed and stems removed
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp lemon
Instructions
- In a bowl, place the yogurt, cream, lemon juice and mix well until smooth. Add the sweetener of your choice until it is slightly sweeter than what you’d prefer (because when frozen, it becomes a little less sweet).
Fruit puree
- Place strawberries in a saucepan with other ingredients. On low-medium heat, heat the strawberries until soft and the sugar has dissolved. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes and then puree the fruits in a blender or food processor. Set aside to cool completely.
- Repeat with same amount of blueberries.
Frozen Fruit Yogurt
- Divide the yogurt mix in to 3 portions. Add strawberry to 1 portion ( I added all of it, but you can add less), blueberry to the second and leave the third portion as is.
With an Ice Cream maker
- Let the yogurt mixtures chill in the fridge overnight.
- Churn each portion in the ice cream machine for about 15 minutes each and freeze it in the same container if you prefer. Let the yogurt freeze for a few hours before serving.
Without an Ice Cream Mixer
- Place the yogurt mixtures in 3 separate wide bowls and keep them in the freezer. Using a hand-held mixer, whip each mixture every 30-40 minutes, while breaking up the yogurt that’s frozen along the sides of the bowl. Continue to do this every 40 - 60 minutes until the mixture becomes thick and partially frozen. You can leave them to freeze completely in individual containers OR transfer the thick partially frozen yogurt mixtures into the same container and let it freeze completely before serving.
